Long-Term Operational Reliability for Complex Process Control Systems
The risks associated with process engineering systems in the chemical industry are very similar to those in the pharmaceutical sector – SpiraTec AG has a great deal of knowledge and experience in both industries.

SpiraTec employees identify with the system as if it were their own and are correspondingly motivated to maintain it.
Close monitoring of the facilities
Our customer produces high-purity fine chemicals as intermediate products for various industries. To ensure that all processes run smoothly and without errors, close monitoring of the systems is essential – for example, to prevent chemical contamination.
While the company used to carry out various maintenance and servicing measures itself and had to allocate large amounts of personnel resources for this, these activities are now carried out externally:
by SpiraTec AG, which, as a site service provider, deploys its own employees on site at the customer’s premises, even around the clock if required. The service also includes a comprehensive on-call service.
- Maintenance and servicing of the process control system
- On-site service at the customer’s premises
- Significant relief for the customer team
In-depth insider knowledge
As the SpiraTec team was partly involved in the installation of the system itself, there is an exceptionally high level of knowledge, identification and motivation with regard to all related maintenance tasks. In addition, the team has also kept abreast of all changes in technical requirements.
-
The use of external staff tailored to the client’s needs helps our client save on personnel costs and thereby gain a competitive advantage.
-
Tasks requiring close supervision, such as process monitoring and maintenance, are carried out more reliably by external providers.
-
The client’s employees are available for other demanding tasks, while SpiraTec reliably handles all maintenance tasks—even in critical situations.
On-site deployment
SpiraTec was not only significantly involved in the initial installation of the affected systems, it was also responsible for both the calibration of the quality-relevant measuring points and the programming of the entire process control system.
SpiraTec therefore has the necessary local knowledge and expertise with regard to safety regulations to be able to fully maintain the entire system and rectify electrotechnical faults – valuable specialist knowledge that is now only occasionally found in the client’s own company.
