When I was offered the opportunity to build up a new location from scratch together with SpiraTec in 2014, there was enough excitement in the idea itself. More than 10 years down the road and the excitement levels still remain as high as ever, except that it now no longer arises solely from anticipation and the explorer spirit, rather now primarily from responsibility in quite a few directions, such as regarding the staff, customers, business etc. The field of activity covers all business areas and all corporate functions of SpiraTec. This also means that I’m in lively contact with lots of great SpiraTec people all over the country. But the most fun for me is the day-to-day collaboration and development with my own teams.

What I particularly like about the corporate culture at SpiraTec is that the focus is placed on solution-oriented work across all industries. I view my role as being part of a start-up and being able to actively build up the new “Industrial Robotics Services” business unit, which is therefore a great personal opportunity for me. SpiraTec provides me with the opportunity to work in an inspiring environment, in close proximity to science and research, combined with great creative freedom as well as creating new challenges every day.

Since joining SpiraTec, I’ve been part of the IAS division with a focus on Artificial Intelligence. What excites me most is working at the intersection of traditional automation and innovative AI technology – in an environment that welcomes and actively encourages new ideas.

What truly sets SpiraTec apart for me is the open company culture, where collaboration across departments and locations is a given. This allows me to grow both professionally and personally, while contributing my knowledge to exciting projects.

Working for SpiraTec has the big advantage of flexibility. Your work and tasks are flexible in the matter that you will learn different systems and execute different tasks and parts of the process in industrial automation. This is exiting to me because I always learn something new and see something different. No project is the same. You are also flexible in your location with all the offices SpiraTec has. I started out at the headquarter in Germany and am now in California. I like the weather and possibilities here. Last there is the flexibility of the work hours. All in all SpiraTec is a company where you experience a lot of different things and you have a say in what you want to do. 

When I started at SpiraTec a few years ago, I couldn’t have imagined how much variety I would encounter in my daily work. Collaborating on each project with both new and familiar colleagues—bringing in fresh ideas while also drawing on proven experience—is just as exciting as the diversity of systems and clients we work with.

What I particularly appreciate is the flexibility: the combination of mobile working, office work, and on-site assignments with clients is the perfect mix for me. Depending on my coffee level, I’d describe myself as a very communicative person, so I really enjoy the time spent in the office with my colleagues. At the same time, it’s also easy to work from home on certain days.

And finally: when you’re standing on-site with the client and see with your own eyes what you’ve accomplished—that’s simply a fantastic feeling!
