Speyer, July 02, 2024 – Industrial Solutions M&B GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of SpiraTec AG, is merging with its parent company on June 28, 2024. The merger underlines the company’s expertise in the steel and iron industry and paves the way for future-oriented projects.

Industrial Solutions M&B GmbH has been part of the SpiraTec Group since 2022 and complements the portfolio of automation technology, software development and electrical engineering with many years of expertise in the steel and iron industry. In addition, the merger brought a regional network expansion in the Ruhr area with strategically important locations in Oberhausen and Duisburg, which further strengthen accessibility for customers together with the Cologne and Dortmund locations.

Synergies are now being used even more efficiently to consistently offer services from a single source. “In this way, joint major projects can be handled even better. The steel industry in particular is facing major challenges with the development of lower CO2 production. Forward-looking projects are emerging here, in which we act as a competent partner,” says Andreas Scheid, Head of Industrial Automation Solutions, confidently.

Green transformation: expertise in direct reduction systems in demand

SpiraTec is currently contributing its automation expertise to the construction of direct reduction plants. These are set to replace blast furnaces in the steel industry in the future. They use natural gas or hydrogen instead of coal and emit only around half as much CO2. Stefan Büttner, co-founder of Industrial Solutions M&B, emphasizes: “After more than 20 years of experience in the steel industry, we are proud to support our customers on the path to sustainable steel production and thus play our part in reducing CO2 emissions.”
