Uniting employees across locations

Interview with Event Manager Angelina Blumör

Planning a family celebration or organizing a get-together with friends is probably something that some of us are familiar with in our everyday lives. But planning much larger events for a group of companies on a professional level is challenging and would probably make some people break out in a sweat. But not Angelina. As part of the international marketing team of the SpiraTec Group since 2022, she organizes internal and external events for several companies and locations – with passion and a cool head.

The range of events is wide: company parties, trade shows, strategy meetings, trainings, job fairs and many other events need to be organized and planned from start to finish. SpiraTec participates in job fairs and trade shows in various locations around the world. This gives the company the opportunity to present its services to the market and attract new employees. Employee events take place not only at the individual company locations, but also across locations, as do Christmas parties and strategy meetings. This strengthens personal interaction, cohesion and networking among employees, which in turn has a positive effect on teamwork.

All events require a great deal of planning and preparation. Concepts must be well thought out, and deadlines must be met. Short-term changes are often very time-consuming. Angelina has to keep track of everything: processes, number of participants, budget, calculations, event locations, program items, etc. And all of this has to be tailored to the needs and wishes of colleagues from different companies and locations.

Communication is therefore an important factor in this profession. Not only internally, through coordination with management and the various departments, but also externally, with the various service providers that need to be coordinated. Different expectations have to be reconciled so that “in the end, everyone is speaking the same language,” Angelina explains.

“The most exciting thing is that the company is constantly evolving. When we plan events today for next year, there will be completely new challenges that we will have to face by then,” says Angelina. Scheduling and finding space are becoming more complex. Concepts that work in one location have to be rethought for another. Distance is also often a big challenge. For one event or another, the venue can sometimes be a surprise. Patience is a virtue!

In the end, when everything goes smoothly and everyone is happy, Angelina can relax. For her, the personal interaction, the sense of community, the variety and the valuable experiences that come from it are what make the job so exciting and unique.
