Pharma MES Europe 2026: Integrate. Migrate. Modernize.
- 05.10.2026

Pharma MES Europe 2026 brought together experts from the pharmaceutical industry, manufacturing IT managers, and digitalization specialists in Berlin on October 1 and 2. SpiraTec had its own booth at the Maritim proArte Hotel and presented solutions for the design, integration, and implementation of modern MOM/MES landscapes.
The focus of the exhibition was on how production systems can be successfully integrated, migrated, and modernized.
MOM/MES Concept & Design: The Right Strategy for Production
The implementation or modernization of an MES does not begin with the software, but with an assessment of production requirements.
Which processes should be digitally mapped? Which existing systems must be taken into account? What interfaces and data flows are required? And how can the system landscape be further developed in the long term?
SpiraTec supports companies in developing a suitable MOM/MES strategy—from analysis and design to the selection of appropriate solutions and preparation for implementation.
IT/OT System Integration: Intelligently Connecting Data
Production data is generated at various levels—from machines and automation systems to shop floor applications, MES, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
A key prerequisite for end-to-end digital production is therefore the integration of IT and OT.
SpiraTec connects production and enterprise systems, thereby laying the foundation for consistent data flows and a transparent production environment. The event page accordingly lists IT/OT system integration as one of the three central themes of the trade show presentation.
MOM/MES Implementation: From Planning to Live Operation
Numerous implementation steps lie between the MES concept and successful live operation. These include, among other things, system configuration, application development, interfaces, testing, integration, and commissioning.
SpiraTec supports MOM/MES projects every step of the way—from planning to live operation.
This involves not only implementing new systems but also further developing or migrating existing solutions.
Migration and Modernization of Existing System Landscapes
In the pharmaceutical industry in particular, production and IT landscapes have often evolved over time. Completely replacing all systems is not always the most practical approach.
Instead, phased migrations and modernizations can help preserve existing investments while simultaneously meeting new requirements.
Under the trade show slogan “Integrate. Migrate. Modernize.,” the focus was therefore also on issues related to MES transformation and the future-proof development of existing system landscapes.
Pharma 4.0, Data Management, and AI
The digital transformation of the pharmaceutical industry goes beyond the traditional MES. Topics such as Pharma 4.0, data management, and AI-supported production processes are becoming increasingly important.
The key is to integrate new technologies meaningfully into existing production environments and to develop concrete applications for production based on existing data.
Professional Exchange in Berlin
In addition to the solutions presented, Pharma MES Europe focused on in-person exchanges. The event offered an opportunity to discuss specific challenges related to MES implementation, migration, integration, and modernization with experts.
Many thanks to all visitors, partners, and colleagues for the exchanges in Berlin.
