Strategy, planning and collaboration for a new MES

  • 09.04.2025

Smooth system implementation

The migration of manufacturing execution systems (MES) presents numerous challenges. Outdated systems, increasing demands for flexibility and integration, and a lack of manufacturer support are just a few of them. Efficient MES migration relies on structured planning, the right strategy and close collaboration between experts.

MES is central to production control and monitoring in modern manufacturing environments. They monitor the production process, collect data and support decision-making. Outdated technology, lack of vendor support, new demands for production flexibility and IT integration can make migration necessary. Strategic partnerships or adjustments to the product portfolio often play a role as well. One of the most important challenges when migrating an MES is to reduce system downtimes. A standstill in the production process can not only cost money, but also negatively affect customer confidence.
