Speyer, 14 May 2025 – SpiraTec AG – one of the largest independent IT and engineering service providers for digitalization and automation in the process and manufacturing industry in Europe – once again achieved profitable growth in the past 2023/24 financial year: Total output reached € 79 million, six percent more than in the previous year.
The current business figures confirm it: SpiraTec AG is clearly on course for growth and is continuously expanding its market position. With a share of over 50% of total output, orders from the pharmaceutical industry have a particular influence on the positive balance sheet.
In addition, SpiraTec adhered to the targeted acquisition strategy of recent years and achieved further successes. The integration of the companies acquired to date – most recently edeco ag in Switzerland – is sustainably promoting positive business development and leading to value-creating synergies and impetus. With its outstanding services in the field of electrical planning for building installations, edeco ag ideally complements the planning services of the Industrial Automation division. At the same time, edeco ag provides access to a valuable network of experts as well as new markets and sectors. Currently, more than 650 employees at over 40 locations in six countries actively contribute to the success of the SpiraTec Group.
Strong demand & increasing requirements
SpiraTec’s success is driven by the strong demand for comprehensive digital transformation services. “Our customers benefit from the digitalization and automation of their processes. This gives them clear efficiency gains and competitive advantages. With our modular range of services with interdisciplinary solutions in IT, automation, robotics, digital twin and process engineering, we supply everything required for this from a single source,” says Frank Heines, CEO of SpiraTec.
SpiraTec AG’s customers include well-known global players from high-growth industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, energy and semiconductors, as well as steel and chemicals, among others, who are facing increasing demands to make production processes more efficient and cost-effective. The pharmaceutical focus sector in particular holds great potential for SpiraTec due to sales growth in Germany – around 7.8% in 2024 compared to the previous year*.
Equally interesting: with a view to the green transformation, it is digitalization along the horizontal and vertical value chain that enables the targeted optimization of resource use. SpiraTec scores points here with forward-looking reference projects, for example in the field of geothermal energy, climate-friendly LNG drive technology or sustainable steel production using direct reduction systems.
A look into the future
According to market experts, investment in digitalization will continue to rise in the coming years, particularly due to the increasing focus on efficiency enhancement, resilience and sustainability. SpiraTec believes it is ideally positioned in this respect: “The progressive automation of processes, the use of robotics and the implementation of digital twin technologies play a key role in the strategies that companies are using to meet the challenges of our time and seize opportunities,” explains Andreas Schadt, also a member of the SpiraTec Management Board. “Digital transformation is a long-term trend that will continue to be driven by technological progress. With our service portfolio and our strategy, we are in the right position here.”
Schadt continues: “Our growth strategy envisages further expanding our market presence through targeted acquisitions in our domestic market and internationally. The aim is to broaden our range of services even further and acquire new customer groups. In this way, we want to further strengthen our position as a leading provider of IT and engineering services for digital transformation in the international market.” In view of the good order situation, SpiraTec is optimistic that it will continue to grow in the 2024/25 financial year.
